Life: Born in Savannah and a life-long resident, Eleanor Boyd attended Savannah High School, Armstrong Junior College (Associate of Arts, 1940) and University of Georgia (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 1942.)

Scope of Collection: Personal papers of Eleanor Boyd related to her family, education and career as a piano teacher in Savannah Ga from 1945- until the early 1990’s. Collection includes: family documents and photographs; scrapbooks of clippings from 1938 and of 1939 trips to New York City and World’s fair; a photograph album of family and friends from the 1940’s, documents and yearbooks from Savannah High School, Armstrong Junior College, and University of Georgia; Piano recital programs of : Eleanor Boyd and Boyd’s students (form 1945-1991). Material about the Savannah Piano Teachers Club, circa the 1950’s, including: constitution, photographs and some recital programs. A notebooks of rituals of the Eastern Star. A 1901 Congressional Directory of John T. Burdine. Personal papers, scrapbooks, photo albums and memorabilia of alum and benefactor Eleanor Boyd.
