1987 administrative reorganization results in:

• School of Education dissolved. Departments of Elementary Education and Secondary and Special Education become part of a renamed School of Arts, Science and Education.

• Department of Health Science combined with Physical Education and Recreation under School of Health Professions.

• Dean of Community Services eliminated. Donald Anderson reassigned to the position of registrar and director of special programs

• Dean of Academic and Enrollment Services position created to administer departments of Admissions/Recruitment, Developmental Studies, Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs, Minority Affairs, Registrar and Special Programs. William L. Megathlin appointed to the position in 1986.

 
• The position of director of housing and the position of placement counselor combined into the position of director of placement and housing.
